The Childminder Professional Development Programme has been developed in partnership with experts at the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) to support the development of outstanding inclusive practice.

Extensive, bespoke and affordable, the programme is designed to help childminders raise the aspirations, access and achievement of all children in the early years, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The programme is online and self-contained accessible for up to one year – containing a wealth of knowledge and experience of how to support every child to reach their potential.

Through three structured modules the programme not only covers working with families to support child learning, but also how to collaborate with professionals across the sector to meet the needs of more vulnerable children.

The programme consists of:

  • Three structured modules, Parents in Partnerships, Understanding Behaviour and Working in Wider Child-Centred Partnerships, with unlimited access to related research, advice and articles
  • 15 hours of self-directed online learning and 50 hours of extended study
  • The use of research and video footage showing real life examples of good practice in supporting vulnerable children
  • Access to a specialist coach who can answer questions about the course at any time by email.

Cost

The programme is hosted on the PACEY website pacey.afa3as.org.uk and costs £49.99, with a 10% discount for PACEY members.

Once the programme is completed you will be able to record your learning in an 'evidence of change in practice' form and download a certificate of completion for your records.
