As part of the day, our partner organisation Coram Beanstalk will deliver a taster session on the approach that Trained Reading Helpers take when supporting children in school with their reading.
Coram Beanstalk is a national children’s literacy charity who recruit, train and support Trained Reading Helpers to provide consistent, one-to-one reading support to children aged 3-13 who need help. They go on to provide the support children need to improve their reading skills, reading ability and confidence. Coram Beanstalk also provide training to people within the school community who want to help children learn to read for pleasure whilst improving their reading skills. The children supported might have fallen behind with their reading, lack confidence, or struggle with their fluency, comprehension or vocabulary.
