The Social Mobility Commission’s 2017 ‘State of the Nation’ report revealed how on average, disadvantaged pupils were two full years of learning behind their fellow pupils. However, when the Sutton Trust Teacher Poll 2017 asked how pupil premium was spent to narrow such attainment gaps, 17% of teachers revealed they didn’t know, whilst 30% of headteachers disclosed the funds had been used to plug gaps in their school’s budget.

As such, it is now vital that teachers and school leaders are able to develop strategies which effectively utilise pupil premium funding to deliver targeted intervention programmes which are able to address the attainment gap and support improved outcomes for all pupils.

With this in mind, this year’s highly anticipated Pupil Premium Conference returns on the 5th of July in Central London. With Ofsted and the Education Policy Institute at the forefront of discussions, this will serve as an invaluable opportunity for all pupil premium leads and headteachers to learn how to develop successful pupil premium strategies, which improve teaching and learning outcomes, close the attainment gap and meet the growing needs of all disadvantaged pupils.

This year, the conference will provide a wider platform to meet, network and engage with pupil premium leads and will go one step further in examining how schools are making effective use of the latest pupil premium funding, in order to develop innovative intervention programmes needed to close the attainment gap.

To provide delegates with bespoke best practice case studies, this conference will be split into two breakout streams for primary schools and secondary schools/ colleges, which ensures all content is tailored to the needs and challenges of all attendees.

Gain key insights from a range of education leaders, including:
