An interview with Richard Bland, writer of children's book, 'AB Gets His Wings', that advocates adults encouraging children to talk about their emotions. Achievement for All recognises the importance of emotions and have trained professionals in delivering emotion coaching sessions to sid educational professionals working with children and young adults.

In the wake of a huge personal tragedy, when son Andrew took his own life, Richard tried to find a way of making sense of this experience and started to write about it. He had already been working with the RAF and was involved in charity work with a teddy bear. His wife suggested using this to write a book and encourage people to get talking about emotions. This led to the rising success of AB Gets His Wings.

Richard and his family are dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of speaking to children about their emotions, and normalising every emotion. He continues to raise money for the charity that supported his family through this devastating time and recommends anyone experiencing something similar contacts the DOVE SERVICE https://www.thedoveservice.org.uk/
