The Achieving Wellbeing (CLA) Programme is a one-year package of professional training and leadership development opportunities, supported by an assigned Achievement Coach, which specifically targets the improved attainment and wellbeing of looked after and previously looked after children. 

The programme is delivered in partnership with the funding virtual school and includes:

  • A comprehensive Needs Analysis and action planning framework
  • The equivalence of 9 1/2 day sessions led by an Achievement Coach, that can be tailored to the needs of the school and leadership team (supporting the Needs Analysis and initial audit process, whole-school INSET, small group work to “train the trainers”, embedding a Coaching methodology, evidence gathering, quality teaching and learning etc.)
  • Identification and progress tracking of the attainment and wellbeing of all looked after and previously looked after children on roll, in line with the existing processes in place at the school and funding virtual school
  • Support with the creation of good quality, SMART PEPs in line with virtual school requirements
  • Over 100 hours of professional development opportunities for middle leaders, teachers and support staff that can be tailored to meet existing school improvement planning imperatives
  • The opportunity for every member of teaching and support staff, including Governors, to open individualised learner accounts in The Bubble (Achievement for All’s innovative on-line learning environment), supporting 24/7 access to engaging interactive content)
  • Downloadable training and professional development material, including audit tools and lesson observation proformas
